Dr. Krock is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology and has been practicing cardiology in North Texas since 2005, starting in Plano. He was the Director of Peripheral Vascular Disease as well as the Chief of Cardiology at The Medical Center of Plano for several years, and was voted Cardiologist of the Year by the hospital staff in 2012.
Following his years of practice as a member of a large cardiology group in Plano, Dr. Krock began 2015 with a goal of establishing his own practice where the emphasis would be on building strong patient relationships based on mutual respect and trust. That goal became a reality in the Spring of 2015 with the opening of The Heart Smart Group office in The Medical Center of McKinney.
Dr. Krock, who is fluent in Spanish, is also interested in bikram yoga, scuba diving, and can be heard periodically on “Rock with Doc Krock,” on 92.5 Lone Star Radio.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Crystal Bujold to the Heart Smart Group starting September 2017. She will be accepting new patients in both the McKinney and Frisco office locations.
Dr. Bujold specializes in non-invasive cardiology with professional interests in cardiovascular imaging, heart failure, structural heart disease, preventive cardiology and women’s health. She has authored publications related to preventive cardiology, and her research has been presented at national meetings, including the National Lipid Association. Dr. Bujold is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. She is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Bujold earned her B.A. degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a dual major in exercise physiology and Spanish. Subsequently, she completed a Master’s degree in physiology at North Carolina State University. She then became involved with research in the field of pharmacogenomics at the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences prior to attending medical school.
Dr. Bujold received her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she graduated with honors as a member of Sigma Sigma Phi. She then moved to the Tampa Bay area, where she completed both her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship training at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg. She received the resident of the year award during her medicine training, and was appointed chief fellow during her training in cardiovascular disease. After completion of her training, she joined The Heart Institute in St. Petersburg, where she maintained a successful private practice prior to relocating to the Dallas-Forth Worth area.
Our practice continues to grow with the addition of an extremely well-qualified and experienced cardiologist, Dr. Kalpesh Patel. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in 2007 where he graduated in the top 15% of his class, Dr. Patel embarked on extensive medical training at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA beginning July, 2008.
For the next seven years at Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Patel completed his residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a three year Cardiology Fellowship, culminating in a one-year Interventional Cardiology Fellowship that was completed in 2015.
Dr. Patel has board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. He has written or contributed to numerous medical publications and abstracts.
